![]() I generally think there could be alot more useful content on speaking and wish that would be prioritized. I find they are just repetitive things I’ve learned elsewhere already. Some of it is a bit repetitive (you will get the same posture and breathing tips before every single speaking exercise) and I think an entire section related to calming/nervous and inclusive speaking is a little much -these are relevant for everyday life but they don’t teach anything related to how to be a better speaker. I appreciate the interview questions that can be used as prompts for practice but I think there could be a lot more content dedicated to interviewing. I don’t know how accurate the AI is that provides feedback but either way you are practicing speaking which can only help. However I’m mainly using this for practicing interview/and impromptu work speaking. It has some really good tips and found the “impromptu speaking” section most helpful, with “engaging an audience” also helpful. It’s really a great idea for those intimidated by public speaking or unconfident in interviews. I have been on this app for a couple of months. Public speaking practice and instant feedback. ![]() This app will someday go viral, and will deservedly be very big, but it just scared the heck out of me.Speak with confidence. I've not even begun to pick apart the anxiety it caused me. Perhaps as /u/Hobotrader points out, i'm worried about 'being the product'. Perhaps I read too much about the data leaks and misuse that is becoming commonplace. If it was trained on Oari's database of the spontaneous communication styles of random users around the world, I can't begin to imagine the negative potential.ĭespite the clear benefits of the program, without a clear and watertight promise about what will be done with my data, I have to pass on this one. GPT-2 (the recent impressive natural language AI) was trained on webpages. It would contain my innermost thoughts without curation. But (and the geek in me must speak out here about what I felt while using it) a part of me could not ignore that the data that could be generated by this app is quite terrifying.ĭespite the clear benefits that it would introduce in my daily life - whether at work or expressing myself more clearly to friends - the potential dataset makes me shudder.
